Largest music festival in Romania brings 300,000 spectators to the heart of Transylvania

Some 170 international and Romanian artists will perform on 8 stages in front of an expected attendance of 300,000 people in the four days of the Untold Festival, which kicks on Thursday, July 30, in Cluj-Napoca, the biggest city in Transylvania. The organizers have sold over 30,000 tickets and multi-day passes for the festival’s four days and expect over 50,000 spectators in the festival’s main area in each of the four days. Some 600 young people have donated blood to receive free or discounted tickets for the festival, in a popular pay with blood campaign that managed to raise 275 liters of blood for the transfusion centers in Cluj-Napoca and Bucharest. The festival's biggest stages will be on the Cluj Arena stadium, in the new Polyvalent Hall, and the main access point will be the city’s central park. The budget for organizing this event, which may be the biggest music festival in Romania, exceeds EUR 4 million. Untold Festival brings some of the most popular international DJs to Romania, featuring famous artists such as Avicii, Armin van Buuren, and David Guetta. The festival has boosted the hotel business in Cluj-Napoca, as some 95% of the available accommodation in the city has already been booked for the event’s period. The municipality has also prepared for the high tourist wave by setting up over 6,000 new parking spaces, most of them at the city’s outskirts, and by providing non-stop public transport, according to Digi 24 news station.
