Telekom Romania to sell its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus unlocked

Telekom Romania, the largest integrated telecommunications group in Romania, said it will sell the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus unrestricted to the Telekom network, Nikolai Beckers, the company’s CEO announced on Thursday night. Mobile carriers usually sell their smartphone locked to their network, which makes it harder for clients to use the same devices in other networks. Unlocked devices are also sold by online retailers, but are more expensive. Beckers estimates that Telekom Romania will finish its first batch of iPhone 6 smartphones in less than a week, but didn’t mention how many units the company has on its inventory. Telekom Romania sells the iPhone 6 for as low as EUR 271 packaged with a two-year mobile data and voice subscription for which users will have to pay an extra EUR 50 per month. Telekom also sells the iPhone 6 without subscription, for EUR 746. Orange Romania and Vodafone Romania also started selling the iPhone 6 on October 31.
