Study: Fewer Romanians believe commercials are fun

About 77 percent of the Romanians think that commercials offer practical or useful details about a new product sometimes, and also agree with the fact that advertising helps them to compare products more easily and can create greater competition between producers, encouraging products improvement, according to a GfK Romania study, made for IQads. However, the number of people that say more advertising would not bother them, has decreased from 12 percent in 2002, to only 5 percent in 2011. The number of people that are attracted by commercials starring celebrities has increased with 13 percent in Bucharest in 2011 compared to the results of the study conducted in 2002, while in the small cities and villages the number has decreased. The number of people that think commercials are fun has also decreased from two thirds in 2002 to 58 percent in 2011, according to the study. However, in Bucharest, the advertising agencies are trying to attract more attention, through different approaches. GfK Romania was founded in 1992 and is part of GfK Group.
