Around 20 earthquake shook the Romana plain south of Romania in the last eight hours. The biggest of these measured 4.4 degrees Richter. The earthquakes were close to the surface, the deepest of them being at 11 kilometers underground. These earthquakes do not precede a larger one, said Gheorghe Marmureanu, honorary head of the Institute of Earth Physics in Romania. There will not be earthquakes above 7 degrees Richter in Romania in 2012, he also said. editor@romania-insider.com
