Romania’s Rasnov hosts history film festival this summer

The program of this year’s edition of Rasnov History Film Festival will comprise a total of 40 movie screenings, including premieres, 11 special events, two exhibitions, and 20 lectures and debates. The event will take place between July 31 and August 9. Award-winning Romanian drama Aferim!, directed by Radu Jude, Tudor Giurgiu’s Why Me?/De ce eu?, and Chuck Norris vs Communism, directed by Ilinca Calugareanu, are just of the Romanian movies to be screened at the festival. Organizers also recommend In The Sands of Babylon, a film about the Gulf War, and Michel Hazanavicius’s The Search. This year, the festival also comes with a novelty: a comic books workshop for children. During the event, participants will create a comic book with a historical subject, reports local Agerpres. The program also includes jazz, folk, blues, and alternative rock concerts, and two exhibitions.
