Romanians have lowest life expectancy in the EU, study finds

Life expectancy in Romania is similar to that of neighboring countries, but much lower than in France or Sweden. Romania ranks 10th, with Romanians a life expectancy similar to the Bulgarians, Hungarians and Serbs, according to a an European Commission demographics study. Women are more enduring than men, with a life expectancy of around 77, while men, of 70 years. In France, by contrast, women live on average up to 85 years and men up to 77 years. An average age almost as high is also recorded in Sweden, the United States and Norway. However, life expectancy has increased each year with 2 to 3 months, according to the latest demographic report of the European Commission.
