Romanian president Traian Basescu posed wearing an apron and helped prepare some traditional Chinese food during a Chinese New Year ceremony at the Chinese Embassy in Bucharest on Tuesday (January 1o). The reception included a traditional dance show and ended with in fireworks.
The Romanian president was greeted by Huo Yuzhen, the Chinese ambassador to Bucharest. Basescu was accompanied by Tourism Minister Elena Udrea, Foreign Affairs Minister Teodor Baconschi and Culture Minister Kelemen Hunor.
The Chinese New year will start on January 23 and will end on February 9, 2013 and corresponds to the Water Dragon, according to the Chinese tradition. editor@romania-insider.com (photo source: presidency.ro)
