Romanian businessman invests EUR 6 mln to expand his adventure park

Romanian businessman Marius Cristescu will invest EUR 6 million to add new facilities to his Arsenal Park, one of the largest leisure parks in Romania, located in the mountain city of Orastie, according to Mediafax. The development plan includes setting up an adventure park with six tracks of different difficulties, nine kilometers of bicycle tracks, a 40 meter-high tower for extreme sports and a 600 meter-long zip line, which should be the longest in the country, according Cristescu who owns Arsenal Park together with his brother Emil Cristescu. The new facilities will also include a synthetic ice rink, a skate park, an equestrian center, a spa and a multifunctional hall. Construction works started at the end of June and will end in August next year. The project is 60 percent co-financed through EU funds. On the long term, the owners of the park plan to expand the accommodation facilities and to make a thermal water drilling to heat the spa and the entire complex. Currently, the leisure park, which has a military theme, can accommodate 200 people, with some of the beds placed in armored vehicles. The park spans over an 88 hectare land, in the middle of the forest, next to Orastie. The complex features many military items such as cannons, rocket launchers, military vehicles and even a military plane and a helicopter. Visitors can attend military training sessions, airsoft and paintball battles, can take shooting or archery lessons, or they can go around the park by golf cart, by bike, go-cart or Segway.
