Old and new trains on display at the Gara de Nord railway station in Romanian capital

Romania-Insider.com has paid a visit to the newly opened old and new train and engine exhibition, which awaits visitors inside the main railway station in Bucharest, Gara de Nord (the North Railway Station). The exhibition is on until Sunday, June 15. While interest for the exhibition was at average levels on Tuesday evening, June 11, with some people admiring the trains, hopping on and off, and taking numerous pictures of each other near the old trains, the week-end might bring more crowds. The trains on display are made in Romania, some at factories that do not exist anymore. There are also new models, as well as a metro train on display. An 1869 steam train is also on display, and will even run two times, daily, between Gara de Nord and Gara Baneasa – last night, the engine had a problem and the daily trip was pushed after 19,00. The exhibition is part of a wider event celebrating the launch of the Romanian Railways Company CFR Museum 75 years ago: “Thesaurus of History, Culture and Railway Technology.
