National Museum of Natural History “Grigore Antipa” in Bucharest to be re-opened in September

The National Museum of Natural History “Grigore Antipa” in Bucharest will re-open on September 17 this year, after restoration and modernization works, Romania-Insider.com has learned. The previous deadline for re-opening the museum was July this year. The museum’s modernization works amounted to about EUR 13 million. The necessary funds were secured, in part, through a loan from the Ministry of Culture in 2006, from the Council of Europe Development Bank, and the rest from the state budget. The modern “Grigore Antipa” museum will have five rooms where documentaries are going to be screened, 66 InfoTouch screens, 3D projection, plasma and interactive systems to present the exhibits. A coffee shop, two rooms for activities with children and a souvenir shop will also be organized within the museum.
