Music festival in Romania’s “Dracula Land” sells tickets for blood

Untold, a music festival organized in Transylvania – Romania’s “Dracula Land”, has recently launched the Pay with Blood campaign in partnership with the National Institute of Blood Transfusion. The campaign wants to promote and encourage blood donations in Romania. Until July 24, all blood donors from regional and county transfusions centers can get cheaper Untold Festival subscriptions if they access untoldfestival.com and fill out the donor form. Moreover, those who will donate blood at the mobile caravan in Bucharest’s Herastrau Park between July 17 and July 19, and at the Blood Transfusion Centre in Cluj-Napoca between July 20 and July 21, will receive one-day tickets to the festival. “Untold Festival takes place in Cluj-Napoca, in the heart of Transylvania, a place which made Romania famous worldwide with Dracula legends. Given that Romania is facing an acute shortage of blood in medical facilities, a campaign inspired by these legends to draw attention to a real problem is more than welcomed,” said Bogdan Buta, the festival's general director. Romania ranks second to last in Europe the number of active blood donors, according to National Institute of Blood Transfusion data, cited by a statement of the festival. Only 1.7% of Romania’s population donates blood, and most of them become blood donors only when they need to help a close person. Untold Festival will take place between July 30 and August 2 in Cluj-Napoca, central Romania. Its line-up includes big names in the international electronic music, such as Avicii, Armin van Buuren, David Guetta, ATB, Fedde le Grande, and Patrice.
