How many legal days off in Romania in 2016?

There will be 12 legal days off in Romania next year, but five of them are in the weekends and only seven are working days. The first official free days are January 1 and January 2 (Friday and Saturday), followed by the Day of the Romanian Principalities Unification on January 24 (Sunday). Next year, the Labor Day coincides with the first day of Easter – May 1 (Sunday). May 2 (Monday), the second day of Easter, is also a day off in Romania so the Romanians can enjoy a mini holiday in that period. However, instead of having two spring mini-breaks (Easter and May 1), Romanians will only have one. The Pentecost will be celebrated on June 19 and June 20 (Sunday and Monday) and the Assumption will take place on August 15 (Monday), thus allowing two more long weekends during summer. The following legal days off will be on St. Andrew’s Day – November 30 (Wednesday), the National Day of Romania – December 1 (Thursday), and the first and second days of Christmas – December 25 and December 26 (Sunday and Monday).
