German and British tourists spend the New Year’s Eve in Romania’s Hotel of Ice

Foreigners seem to love Romania’s Hotel of Ice. Some 70% of the tourists who have booked rooms at the hotel since the beginning of the year are German and British citizens. “The first bookings were made early in the year, right after the New Year’s Eve. Around 70-80% of the rooms have been booked by agencies in the UK, Germany, and Romania,” Lidia Badila, the Hotel of Ice spokesperson, told local Agerpres. “The tourists are divided into two categories: those who sleep in the hotel and those who only come to visit it. Most of those who come to visit the hotel are Romanians, having a share of 80%, and the rest are foreigners,” she added. The hotel, located in Fagaras mountains at an altitude of 2,000 meters, has 14 double rooms. A night in a double room costs RON 440 (under EUR 100).
