National Art Museum in Bucharest to host film screenings in partnership with TIFF

Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF) and the National Museum of Art of Romania (MNAR) in Bucharest have partnered for the program Cinemateca TIFF@MNAR.

The Auditorium Hall of MNAR will host a program of film screenings starting April 27 and until May 29. After a summer break, the screenings will restart in the fall. The program also includes meetings with filmmakers, debates, and roundtables with art and film critics.

TIFF has run the Cinemateca TIFF program, covering art films, new releases and special screenings, in Cluj-Napoca, where the festival is based.

Similarly, the Bucharest public is invited to a program of art films, documentaries, and productions awarded at international festivals.

The program opens on April 27 with a screening of the documentary Occasional Spies / Spioni de ocazie by Oana Bujgoi Giurgiu. David Pujol’s Salvador Dalí. Early Diaries is scheduled for April 28.

Other films in the program are Aleksandre Koberidze’s What Do We See When We Look at the Sky?, the winner of the FIPRESCI Prize at the 2021 Berlinale, Céline Sciamma’s Petite maman, and Rodrigo Sorogoyen’s Madre.

Mihai Sofronea’s The Windseeker, the winner of the FIPRESCI Prize at this year’s Sofia International Film Festival, will also be screened. The director, actor Dan Bordeianu and other crew members will attend the screening and talk to the audience.
