Romanian “King of the Jungle” to fight against Moroccan K1 superstar

Romanian heavyweight kickboxer Catalin Morosanu(center) will have a shot at Moroccan Badr Hari, one of the world’s best K1 fighters in a special event that will take place in May either in Dubai or Bucharest. Catalin Morosanu, also known as “The Carpathian Death” (Moartea din Carpati) is one of Romania’s most successful kickboxers, with numerous wins in the Superkombat and Local Kombat fighting championships. Morosanu, 30, has had some notable wins against Brazilian Anderson Silva, American Carter Williams, Croatian Stefan Leko, French Freddy Kemayo and American Mighty Mo. He has won 39 of his 47 kickboxing matches, 23 of which by knockout. Catalin Morosanu has also won the Dancing with the Stars season 9 in Romania and became “King of the Jungle” in the first local series of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! Badr Hari has fought a total of 117 matches in his kickboxing career and won 105 of them, having an astonishing 91 wins by knockout. In April 2007, he became the world’s K-1 heavyweight champion. During his career, he has been involved in a number of controversies relating to his unsportsmanlike conducts. Hari is also 30, but he is taller and heavier than Morosanu, and his experience in the K1 circuit makes him a very strong opponent for the Romanian. editor@romania-insider.com
