BMW presents electric cars I3 and I8, available in Romania from 2013

Carmaker BMW will start selling electric cars in Romania in 2013, when the i3 and i8 models will become available on the local market too. The BMW i3 will be launched in 2013 as the BMW Group’s first series-built electric vehicle for use in the world’s major metropolitan regions. The BMW i8 will follow in the same year, according to the group’s most recent financial report. The car maker has recently presented the two new models- more details on its website. Romanian buyers who want to go electric driving currently have the option to choose between Mitsubishi i-MiEV model, Citroen C-Zero, Renault Fluence ZE and Renault Kangoo ZE. The first electric car recharging point has been recently inaugurated in Bucharest – read about it here. Making its first steps towards the use of electric cars, Romania currently lacks the infrastructure to support the use of such vehicles.
