Astra Film Festival in Sibiu returns this fall with outdoor, online editions

The 27th edition of Astra Film Festival in Sibiu, in Romania’s Transylvania region, will take place outdoors and online and will have two parts: Astra Film Festival Outdoor (September 4-13) and Astra Film Festival Online (October 16-25).

The event’s organizers said that the new format “prioritizes the necessary protection measures for the festival to provide safe conditions for participants.”

Astra Film Festival Outdoor will be organized at the Astra Museum and in Sibiu’s Old Town, between September 4 and September 13. It will include film screenings, meetings with filmmakers, debates, special programs and concerts, News.ro reported.

Meanwhile, some of the movies included in the event’s official program will be made available on the festival’s online platform between October 16 and October 25, when Astra Film Festival Online is scheduled to take place. AFF Online will also host a program dedicated to the industry, which will include a series of activities to be held online.

Further details on the festival’s program and the rules of participation in the outdoor screenings will be announced in the coming period.
