AC/DC files complaint against Romanian customs workers for alleged bribe

Australian rock band AD/DC, which has recently performed in Romania, has submitted a complaint to the Romanian authorities saying the customs workers in Nadlac have asked for bribe for the band's truck when exiting Romania. The band had 29 trucks and have allegedly been asked EUR 50 for each truck by several customs employees, because they lacked road tax documents for their stay in Romania (in Romanian called 'rovinieta', which needs to be paid by all car owners in Romania and which is a road tax). AC/DC's staff has paid the sum without receiving any official bill in exchange. According to the law, the National Roads Company can check whether a car owner holds a valid rovinieta, but not ask for information on whether the owner had a rovinieta in the past. The National Roads Company is currently investigating the alleged bribe case. AC/DC played in Romania on May 16 in a concert which has raised 60,000 fans. AC/DC had bene previously disappointed by their Romanian experience even before coming to the country. Lats year, an Israeli firm posted a fake announcement about the band's concert in Bucharest and even managed to convince fans to buy tickets.
