Goodbye 2015, Hello 2016! Where are the New Year’s Eve parties in Bucharest?

The hotels, clubs, restaurants and bars in Bucharest are getting ready to welcome 2016, most of them organizing New Year’s Eve parties. However, the traditional New Year’s Eve party in Constitutiei Square will no longer take place this year, as the City Hall doesn’t have the necessary funds. There will be only one outdoor event organized this year in Bucharest, in one of the capital’s parks. With four of Bucharest's seven mayors under arrest or investigated for corruption, Bucharest will no longer have its traditional concerts and parties in the city's main squares, and (probably) no fireworks either. The famous "Vanghelion" organized by former District 5 mayor Marian Vanghelie at Romexpo, won't be organised either, as Vanghelie has been investigated for almost a year by the anticorruption prosecutors. The only mayor who still organizes a New Year's Eve event is District 3 mayor Robert Negoita. Here’s a list of 30 New Year’s Eve events in Bucharest:

• The White Night of Wishes party in Titan (IOR) Park. This is the only outdoor New Year’s Eve party organized in the Romanian capital this year. The entry is free and the program includes Romanian artists such as Proconsul, Andra, Grasu XXL, Robin & the Backstebbers, ROA, Zoli Toth Project, and Fly Project. The concerts start at 19:30.
• New Year’s Eve at the Palace of Parliament in Bucharest. Tickets cost between EUR 125 and EUR 300. More information here
