Gelu Gherghescu, back to Ernst & Young Romania as partner in Advisory department

Gelu Gherghescu is the new partner in the Ernst & Young’s Advisory department. He first joined Ernst & Young in 1998, advancing to the manager level, and since 2004 he held key positions in BRD Groupe Societe Generale, the most recent being that of Deputy CFO.

Gelu Gherghescu is specialized in risk management, regulatory matters including Basel 2, performance improvement, assets and liabilities management and funding. He has also experience in audit and providing assistance to credit and financial institutions. Starting 2002, he became a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK (ACCA) and of the Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania (CAFR).

Ernst & Young had revenues of around USD 21.3 billion in 2010, and currently has approximately 141,000 employees in 700 offices across 140 countries. In Romania, the company was set up in 1992 and has offices based in Bucharest, Timisoara and Cluj Napoca.
