Former Tourism Minister Elena Udrea elected president of People’s Movement Party in Romania

Former Tourism Minister Elena Udrea on Saturday (June 7) was elected president of People’s Movement Party PMP in Romania, with 742 votes. Her opponent Daniel Funeriu received only 209 votes in his favour, reports local Agerpres.

“Thank you for your trust and I promise we will build together the party that Romania needs. I promise that we’ll together change the political class. I promise that we’ll change Romania for the better, I promise that we’ll count at the presidential elections this autumn. I promise we’ll be the number one party in 2016,” said Udrea.

PMP is a new political party in Romania. The party got 6.24 percent of the votes at this year's European parliament elections, organized on May 25.
