Romania’s Corvin Castle hosts European Fair of Castles this month

The seventh edition of the European Fair of Castles will be held at Romania’s well-known Corvin Castle, in Hunedoara county, on May 27-28.

The event will gather 21 exhibitors, from citadels, palaces, and castles to museums and memorial houses. Among the sites from Romania that have confirmed their participation in the fair, there are Bran Castle, the Alba Iulia Citadel, the Rasnov Citadel, the Fagaras Citadel, and the Palace of Culture from Iasi.

In parallel with the event, visitors will be able to witness a series of fights between knights or take archery and sword lessons, according to local Agerpres.

Corvin Castle is regarded as one of the most impressive sights of Gothic and Renaissance architecture in Europe, being placed among the most beautiful in the world. Last year, the castle attracted over 276,000 tourists, 37% more than in 2020 - the year marked by the COVID-19 pandemic.
