Dedeman, the biggest Do-It-Yourself retailer in Romania, will open a store in Turda, near Cluj-Napoca, with a EUR 10 million investment.

The new store will cover 11,500 sqm, which will also include a large green area and a parking lot with 457 parking spots. The new unit will employ 162 people, which will raise the number of Dedeman employees to over 10,000.

The Turda unit is the retailer’s fourth investment this year. The company plans to open aother new store in Pantelimon, Bucharest, by the end of the year.

Dedeman recorded a turnover of EUR 1.16 billion last year, up 20% year-on-year. Its net profit amounted to over EUR 158 million, up 26.6% compared to 2015.

The retailer has 48 stores in Romania, with areas ranging from 7,500 to 18,000 sqm.
