Romania's draft Wage Law for the budgetary sector has failed to secure explicit support from most major trade unions, with employee organisations criticising proposed pay levels and restrictions on bonuses as the government seeks to complete a milestone under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
Most unions, with the notable exception of SindFISC, which represents employees of the Ministry of Finance, have raised objections to the draft. The main points of contention are the proposed cap on bonuses at 20% of base salary and the reduction of the benchmark used to calculate public sector wages from RON 4,100 to RON 4,000 next year, Economica.netreported.
