Study: More than 60% of Romanians want to have their own business

63% of Romanians want to have their own business, with higher percentages being reported among men (72%), young people aged 18-23 (77%), and adults aged between 24 and 38 years (75%), according to the iSense Modern Consumer Trends Tracker conducted annually by market research company iSense Solutions.

For most Romanians (about 80%), being independent means not being financially dependent on someone else, and for 77% independence is associated with the possibility to do the things they want, to fulfill their passions, the same study revealed, according to local Wall-street.ro. Succeeding on their own is another feature that defines independence for 57% of Romania.

Meanwhile, three out of ten respondents living in urban areas said independence means being self-employed and able to work when you want, the percentage going up to 40% in the case of people aged between 39 and 54 years. Only 9% of Romanians think that independence means living alone.

The same study showed that, although most of the Romanian employees work entirely from the company's headquarters (66%), some of them have the opportunity to work regularly from home (15%) and 19% constantly work from home or elsewhere. When it comes to the benefits of working from home (occasionally or constantly), most respondents (61%) pointed to the fact that they can make their own program, 55% said they can concentrate better, 53% have more free time, 51% feel more relaxed, and 35% said they are more productive.

The study was based on data collected in January 2019, and the research, representative for the urban area, was carried out online on 1,011 respondents.
