Romania’s domestic energy production fell by 2.6% in the first six months of 2026 compared with the same period last year, according to provisional data published on Monday, August 17, by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) and quoted by Agerpres. Final electricity consumption also declined by 3.3% year-on-year.
Between January 1 and June 30, Romania’s primary energy resources decreased by 4.1%, while electricity resources rose by 1.1% compared with the first half of 2025.
