Romania's Govt. wants to reward companies that increase their capital

Romania's Government ponders approving on Friday, August 14, a bill that grants bonuses to shareholders who recapitalize their companies.

The move is evaluated in the context of "hundreds of thousands of companies" having negative capital, finance minister Florin Citu explained on Thursday, according to Economica.net.

"We create a long-term, five-year system of bonuses for those who capitalize their company: first we want to bring them to positive capital and afterward to show that they increase their capital every year. I hope that part of this capital will be raised from the capital market. I think it's important for the health of the economy. That's why we created this program - to have companies with positive capital. This shows healthy companies and shows confidence," said Citu at the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
