Autolink is already looking for staff for the future production facility, including a factory manager to coordinate construction, according to Profit.ro.
The Romanian factory will gradually take over Autolink's foreign orders and significantly increase the company's production capacity for international markets, according to information analysed by Profit.ro. The investment in the greenfield project is part of Autolink's expansion strategy in Europe.
Autolink, founded and led by Chinese entrepreneur Yang Hongze, describes itself as a pioneer in the evolution of E/E architectures for the automotive industry. The company provides intelligent cabin controllers, central processing units, ADAS modules and high-density automotive printed circuit boards (PCBAs) to global automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Its shareholders include BAIC, Geely, Chery Automobile, Bosch and NIO Capital, as well as Chinese state-owned companies.
Autolink began expanding in Europe this year, opening offices in Germany and France and entering the Romanian market with an R&D centre in Bucharest, in the Campus 6 office complex developed by Skanska.
As part of its business strategy in Europe, officially presented in March, Autolink estimated that the region would become “an essential strategic centre” for the company, including through the expansion of collaborations with local automakers.
