Banca Transilvania, Exim and UniCredit still in talks to take over OTP Bank Romania

Hungarian group OTP has reportedly picked up Banca Transilvania, Exim Banca Romaneasca and UniCredit to continue talks for the acquisition of OTP Bank Romania, according to sources familiar with the negotiations consulted by Ziarul Financiar.

Erste Bank Group and Raiffeisen Bank International, each active on the Romanian market, were also in discussions, but their indicative offers were reportedly below OTP's expectations.

The sale process of OTP Bank Romania reached the stage of non-binding offers when indicative prices were submitted by interested bidders. After this stage, a final price is expected.
