Bucharest City Hall establishes lanes only for public transport

22 May 2017

Bucharest City Hall has begun establishing new lanes destined only for public transport on the Bucharest-Ploiesti road, towards the city center. The strips will be drawn only at night.

Authorities will then establish other lanes for public transport on Kiseleff street to the Arch of Triumph, on Dorobanti street, between the Dacia boulevard and the Lahovari Square, and on Magheru Boulevard, between the Rosetti Square and the Romana Square. The lanes can be used by buses and taxis.

Once these special lanes are completed, the waiting time in bus stations will decrease and the pollution level will go down, said Bucharest mayor Gabriela Firea.

Bucharest’s south belt could be widened to four lanes
