Luxury brand Louis Vuitton recorded last year the highest profit on the local market since it opened its first store in Romania in 2008.

The profit reached EUR 900,000, up 35% compared to 2013, according to the Finance Ministry, reports local Economica.net. The turnover increased by 0.5%, to EUR 4.6 million.

The price for a Louis Vuitton bag starts from EUR 300 and can reach several thousand euros.

The company is among the 500 largest Romanian exporters. Louis Vuitton owns Romanian manufacturer Somarest, which comes 499th in the biggest exporters’ ranking, according to the National Statistics Institute’s (INS) data for the first ten months of 2014.
