August 4 Update: The City Hall of Iaşi has decided to walk back the decision to shut off overnight street lightening and will instead dim the lights on the city’s streets. In an announcement on the evening of Monday, August 3, quoted by News.ro, the City Hall said the Local Committee for Emergency Situations decided to dim the street lighting by 50 to 70% where it is possible, while for the rest of the grid, individual phases will be disconnected. Architectural lighting at City Hall and other public buildings and landmarks maintained by the municipality will also be switched off from midnight onwards.
