The facility will operate alongside the existing unit in Tunari, Ilfov County, according to Ziarul Financiar. It will serve both local and international markets.
However, the investment does not come with additional hiring. The company currently has over 150 employees.
The completion of the new factory will support the expansion of its portfolio and the development of strategic categories, especially ready-to-use fruit fillings and creams, produced in Romania and exported regionally.
Puratos serves a network of over 2,000 active customers, ranging from independent artisans to large industrial manufacturers and international chains. In Romania, it employs staff in production, sales, R&D, logistics and support, operates a modern factory in Tunari with four production lines, two innovation centres in Bucharest and Cluj, and two trade schools under the Bakery School Romania brand.
In its 30 years on the Romanian market, Puratos has directed over EUR 25 million towards investments in infrastructure, equipment, educational projects and innovation programmes, according to the most recent data.
In December 2025, Puratos announced, on the occasion of its 30th anniversary on the local market, that it was preparing to end the year with a 12% increase in turnover, to approximately EUR 55 million.
