Romania adds 637 coronavirus cases in 24 hours, total nears 33,600

Romania reported 637 coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, pushing the total to 33,585 on Tuesday, July 14, the authorities announced in the daily report released at 13:00.

Of the confirmed cases, 23,798 patients have been discharged: 21,803 patients have recovered, while another 1,995 asymptomatic patients were discharged ten days after the diagnosis.

At the same time, 658 patients who tested positive for the Covid-19 infection were discharged upon request.

Furthermore, 30 coronavirus patients died in the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 1,931 since the start of the pandemic.

Of those who died in the past 24 hours, one was aged between 40 and 49, three between 50 and 59, 11 between 60 and 69, ten between 70 and 79, and five were 80 years old. All of those who died have previous medical conditions.

On July 14, 234 patients were being treated in intensive care units.

At a national level, 868,478 tests were carried out by the same date.

Outside of the country, 5,108 Romanian citizens tested positive for the Covid-19 infection, most of them in Germany (2,275), Italy (1,885), and Spain (561). Since the start of the pandemic, 122 of them died, while 157 have recovered.
