Fast-food chain Mesopotamia invests EUR 5 mln in expansion and digitalization

Fast-food restaurant chain Mesopotamia plans to open new premises on the Romanian and Hungarian markets – this being the most important investment project of the company controlled by entrepreneur Sebastian Tătărîngă.

The chain now counts more than 60 units. It reported a turnover of RON 218 mln (EUR 44 mln) last year, almost double compared to 2021.

The company plans to invest RON 25 mln this year, slightly less than last year when it invested over RON 30 mln, Ziarul Financiar reported.

In addition to the expansion, which was also the main investment project in 2022, Mesopotamia recalls two more this year, brand consolidation and digitalization.

"The most important investment project is the expansion and opening of new premises in Romania and beyond. We plan to inaugurate a series of new restaurants in strategic spaces, including in Bucharest, Craiova, Arad, Alba Iulia and Budapest. This expansion will allow us to strengthen our position in the main cities of Romania and to take the taste of rotisserie turkey (the company's flagship product – n.red.) to a larger audience," Mesopotamia officials said without disclosing exact figures on the number of openings.
