Construction firms and RO Govt. to set up labor exchange

The Romanian association of highway construction companies (ARCA), the Labor Ministry and the Labour Bureau (ANOFM) have decided to set up a platform for construction jobs.

"The return of Romanians to the country in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and the lack of labor on the construction sites, the labor deficit being estimated at 500,000 people, were just two of the arguments for the decision to create the labor exchange," reads ARCA's press release, quoted by Wall-street.ro.

Thus, the three entities launched a partnership to create the first portal dedicated to an industry of strategic importance.

The Construction Jobs Exchange - "Building Together" - will be an online portal designed to help companies hire and support workers to find a job.

The initiators of the labor exchange hope that part of the Romanians who have returned from the construction sites abroad will accept lower wages at home.
