Bucharest district City Hall considers developing multi-use building

The City Hall of Bucharest’s District 3, through one of its municipal companies - ADPB SA, wants to build a 11-storey block on Calea Vitan 154-158 near the Olimpia stadium.

The block would house offices, apartments and commercial spaces, local Hotnews.ro reported. The project will be subject to the approval of the District Council at the next meeting.

The land has an area of about 42,000 square meters and is now used by a municipal company (ADPB SA). There are several greenhouses and ADPB holds there its equipment needed for street and parks maintenance. The opposition claims that the land would be better used for a park, since the area already hosts a significant number of buildings.

Notably, District 3 mayor Robert Negoita, started as a real estate developer.
