Romanian PM says Braila bridge over Danube will open in December
Romania’s prime minister Nicolae Ciuca said on Friday, April 15, that the bridge over the Danube in the eastern city of Braila, one of Romania’s largest and most complex infrastructure projects, will be completed in December this year.

Romania’s prime minister Nicolae Ciuca said on Friday, April 15, that the bridge over the Danube in the eastern city of Braila, one of Romania’s largest and most complex infrastructure projects, will be completed in December this year.
He made the statement at the end of a visit to the construction site.
“We discussed all the details and the completion date of the project. It is obvious that, although […] the project was supposed to be completed last year in December, we now have guarantees from the builders and the beneficiary that all the steps will be taken and the works will be executed so that in December this year the bridge can be put into operation,” prime minister Ciuca said, according to News.ro.
He also noted that this is the first suspension bridge built in Romania.
The bridge, which connects Braila and Tulcea counties, will be two kilometres long and almost 200 meters high.
