Romania's consumer protection body spots problems at Greek retailer Jumbo
Two stores operated by Greek retailer Jumbo in Bucharest were fined over RON 100,000 (EUR 20,000) by the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC), and approximately 10,000 non-compliant products were banned from sale.

Two stores operated by Greek retailer Jumbo in Bucharest were fined over RON 100,000 (EUR 20,000) by the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC), and approximately 10,000 non-compliant products were banned from sale.
The control teams discovered that potentially harmful products were being sold while other products were not accompanied by information in Romanian. The activity of the two stores was suspended until the deficiencies were remedied.
"We asked Jumbo stores to open Greek language learning classes at the entrance. At least that way, the Romanian consumer can understand the labels," ANPC president Horia Constantinescu said, according to News.ro.
The stores sell dangerous products for the children, he added.
Control teams found several violations, including: marketing of products without CE markings and lack of information on labels, misleading business practices, marketing of toys without safety warnings and instructions for use in Romanian and marketing of potentially harmful products.
