Nearly 1,900 Ukrainians already found jobs in Romania

Almost 40% of all Ukrainian refugees who, after the start of the war, found work in Romania are active in the manufacturing industry, according to data centralized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection (MMPS) presented by Agerpres.

MMPS statistics show that, since February 24 and until now, 1,891 Ukrainian citizens have been employed in Romania. Of these, 754 (representing 39.4%) are active in the manufacturing industry.

In the second place in the top of employment by construction is construction, which took in 311 refugees, while in the third place is the HoReCa sector, which employed 177 citizens of Ukraine.

Also, 135 people who fled the war in Ukraine carry out wholesale activities in Romania, and 117 carry out administrative services and support services.

The MMPS document shows that about a quarter of the total number of Ukrainian refugees who found a job in Romania, namely 452 people, were employed by companies in Bucharest.

Outside Bucharest, most Ukrainians found work in Bistriţa Năsăud county, where 270 individual employment contracts were concluded. Arad county also provided jobs for 167 Ukrainian citizens, while Timiş county provided jobs for 126 people in Ukraine.
