Video mapping competition iMapp returns to Bucharest in September

The art and technology show "iMapp Bucharest - Winners League," promoted as the biggest video mapping event in the world, will return to Bucharest in September. According to mayor Nicusor Dan, the event will take place in Constitutiei Square on September 23 under the theme Contrasts.

"The capital will host the 3D works of some of the most valuable artistic teams at the international level, winners of partner festivals of iMapp Bucharest: Video Mapping Festival Lille (FRANCE), Genius Loci Weimar Festival (GERMANY), CosmoLights Projections Mapping (GREECE), Zsolnay Light Festival (HUNGARY), 1Minute Projection Mapping Competition (JAPAN), which will transform the facade of the Palace of Parliament," the mayor said in a Facebook post.

iMapp Bucharest is the largest video mapping event in the world and the most important New Media Art project in Romania, ranking among the top 6 international 3D projection competitions.

During the event, for 12 hours, the audience will enjoy music, relaxation areas, street food, activities, and art installations, with the program culminating in the projection of the international competition iMapp Bucharest - Winners League.

The project is organized by the Bucharest Municipality through CREART - the Center for Creation, Art, and Tradition of Bucharest.
