First virtual reality escape room in Romania launches in Bucharest

05 April 2017

Good new for the escape rooms’ fans as the first virtual reality (VR) escape room in Romania, named Fifth Dimension, was launched in Bucharest.

With an initial investment of EUR 70,000, the studio offers the latest technical conditions, and a first game called Cosmos, reports local Thetrends.ro.

“Before launching Fifth Dimension, we made a lot of research because this concept we were planning to develop combines several components: virtual reality, escape rooms, strategy games – things that we needed to know about to be able to offer the clients a special and well developed experience. Over 75% of the investment was generated by the technological aspects and gaming licenses that we’re bringing as a sign of respect for the local market,” said Alexandru Petre, founder and managing partner Fifth Dimension Gaming Center.

The players use Oculus Rift headsets that generate realistic images, sounds, and other sensations that reproduce or create realistic or futuristic images and surroundings, and Leap Motion sensors that help them interact with their hands in the game without needing joysticks and other controllers.

The VR studio is open daily between 12:00 and 24:00, having three rooms with four places each. It is located on Transilvaniei street in Bucharest.
