Bucharest municipality fails again to find e-bus suppliers

23 July 2020

Bucharest City Hall canceled, on July 22, the tender purchasing 100 electric buses, after all the bids were rejected as unacceptable or non-compliant, Economica.net reported.

It is the second time the tender fails because of a lack of acceptable suppliers.

The City Hall now received three bids for the 100 electric bus contract.

The offers came from two Turkish producers, Bozankaya and Temsa, and a tractor importer associated with a Chinese company.

The City Hall launched this auction on March 3. The first auction was also canceled for non-compliant or unacceptable offers.

It is unclear whether the City Hall will launch a new procedure.

The City Hall estimated the contract at RON 219.57 mln (EUR 45 mln) VAT excluded, of which RON 178 mln (VAT excluded) should come from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Regional Operational Program (ROP) 2014 -2020.
