BCR-InnovX program selects 16 startups for acceleration stage

05 August 2020

BCR-InnovX, a program developed by Romanian lender BCR, has selected the 16 start-ups that qualified in the second phase of the acceleration program of the Grinders group, dedicated to start-ups in their infancy, with a turnover of up to EUR 100,000, a press release announces.

Twenty-four companies entered the first phase, and more than half of them started the acceleration phase, which takes place for six weeks between July 27 and September 9, 2020.

Winning start-ups offer innovative solutions for a wide range of fields: sales, real estate, education, law, dentistry, artificial intelligence, or robotics.

At the end of the incubation program (the first phase), the entrepreneurs presented a business plan, an impact analysis, an investment plan, and a branding plan for the coming years.

The jury selected the start-ups that are best prepared to scale the business.

"We have increased the number of companies selected in this year's groups because we want to support the ecosystem of start-ups in Europe as much as possible. The incubation stage has proven essential because the role it is to help start-ups calibrate their business plans. We are pleased to see that entrepreneurs understand the importance of planning and preparing for an improved strategy. In addition to participating in the accelerator, they come up with new, innovative ideas to create spin-offs of current businesses or to reinvent themselves," said Diana Dumitrescu, CEO of InnovX.
