13 April 2017

Bucharest International Light Festival – Spotlight will return with a new edition next week, between April 20 and April 23.

During the four-day festival, more than 20 installations, projections, and video mapping sessions will turn part of Calea Victoriei boulevard into a large exhibition space. Between April 20 and April 23, from 20:30 to 23:00, Calea Victoriei will become a pedestrian area, especially for this event.

The event will start on Thursday in George Enescu Square, with Phoenix Fire Dancers - a light show of Austrian company Phoenix. The show will begin at 20:30.

For the first time, Art Safari will also be present at the festival, with reproductions of Romanian painter Stefan Luchian, which the visitors will have the chance to admire on the building of Grand Hôtel du Boulevard.

Also at Spotlight festival, Mobius Gallery will bring an art installation to Natiunile Unite Square, while musician and visual artist Tom Brandus will be present with two multimedia installations created by Sylenz Media. The portfolio of the third edition of Spotlight will be completed by artists from Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Finland, Czech Republic, Poland, France, and Austria, while Romania will also be represented by Mindscape and Les Ateliers Nomad.

Meanwhile, the video mapping sessions will bring to life the buildings of Cercul Militar, Novotel Hotel, the National Lottery, and others.

More information about the event’s program is to be posted here.

Last year’s edition of Spotlight attracted some 200,000 participants.
