UniCredit Leasing gets USD 38.5 mln loan from IFC

20 October 2017

International Finance Corporation (IFC), the World Bank’s investment arm, has extended a RON 150 million (USD 38.5 million) loan to local company UniCredit Leasing Corporation, which is part of UniCredit group.

The loan will allow UniCredit Leasing better serve smaller companies that need to modernize their fixed assets, according to IFC. It is part of IFC’s strategy to help financial companies in the region grant loans to disadvantaged sectors.

This is IFC’s first local currency loan to a leasing company, to help the sustainable development of Romania’s growing leasing market, while eliminating cross-currency mismatches.

UniCredit Leasing is the market leader in Romania’s leasing sector.
