Romanian state-owned gas transporter Transgaz increased its net profit by 21% in the first nine months of this year compared to the same period last year, to RON 433.5 million (EUR 93.2 million).

By comparison, the company saw a net profit of RON 358.46 million (EUR 77 million) during the same period in 2016.

The operating revenues before balancing and construction activity reached RON 1.3 billion (EUR 279.6 million) between January and September, up 5% year-on-year. The amount of gas transported grew by almost 14% to 9.21 million cubic meters.

The gas transporter’s outstanding debts amounted to RON 306.9 million (EUR 66 million) between January and September, up RON 56.4 million (EUR 12.1 million) compared to the same period last year.

Transgaz paid RON 536.7 million (EUR 115.4 million) to the state budget in the first nine months of this year. The company has a capitalization of about EUR 1 billion.
