State-owned energy carrier Transelectrica recorded total revenues of RON 2.4 billion (EUR 516.3 million) in the first nine months of this year, up 26.8% year-on-year.

The amount of energy transported went up by 3.4% to 40.51 TWh during this period.

Despite the positive revenue evolution, the company’s net profit decreased by more than two thirds (69.6%) in the first nine months of this year, to RON 64.7 million (EUR 13.9 million).

The total operating expenses went up by 41.7% to RON 2.31 billion (EUR 496 million), outpacing revenues. This led to a drastic decrease in the operating profit by 61.5% to RON 100.5 million (EUR 21.6 million).

Transelectrica’s total assets amounted to RON 4.82 billion (EUR 1.03 billion) at the end of September, down 8% year-on-year. The company’s total debts dropped by 15% to RON 1.8 billion (EUR 389 million) during this period.
