Trains connecting Bucharest to Thessaloniki, Istanbul and Sofia start running this June

The direct train routes linking Bucharest to Halkali/Istanbul, Thessaloniki, and Sofia will run between June 2 and October 2, the Romanian railway operator CFR Calatori announced.

Interested passengers can already book the tickets at the CFR Calatori train stations and agencies dealing with international traffic.

The train to Turkey will run daily, with a sleeping car included. A one-way ticket from Bucharest to Halkali/Istanbul costs around EUR 49 in a six-bunk sleeping car, EUR 54 in a four-bunk sleeping car, and EUR 62 in a three-bunk sleeping car.

The train to Greece will run once a week, leaving Bucharest on Fridays and returning from Thessaloniki on Sundays. A one-way ticket from Bucharest to Thessaloniki costs EUR 45 in a second-class coach car, EUR 56 in a six-bunk sleeping car, EUR 62 in a four-bunk sleeping car, and EUR 64 in a three-bunk sleeping car.

The train to Sofia will run daily, and a one-way ticket costs around EUR 30 in a second-class coach car.

CFR Calatori introduced the first direct trains between Bucharest and Thessaloniki last year, when it ran between June 17 and September 4.
