Swedish pop-rock duo Roxette return for concert in Bucharest

Swedish pop band Roxette will return to Romania for new concert next year. The concert is part of the group’s “XXX – The 30th Anniversary Tour”, which will consist in 28 concerts in some of Europe’s largest cities, including Milan, Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin and London.

The concert in Bucharest will take place on May 17, 2015, at Arenele Romane. Tickets for the concert will be on sale starting November 12, 2014, on www.myticket.ro.

This will be the band’s third concert in Romania. Roxette had a concert in Bucharest in 2011 and one in Cuj-Napoca, in July 2012.

Roxette, made of Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle, started touring again after an eight-year break, during which both members of the band worked mostly on solo projects. The band released a new album for 2011, ‘Charm School’.

Roxette are currently touring in Russia, The Baltics and Finland. This arena tour will wrap up in November this year, and then kick off again in Australia and New Zealand in February 2015. Then, Roxette will embark on the European tour, with its premiere in Milan on the May 10.

Roxette was created at the beginning of the 80s and became one of the best known pop bands of the 80s and the 90s. The band shifted its style in 2000 to keep up with the evolution of the international music scene. Marie Fredriksson was diagnosed with brain tumor in 2002, when the band stopped being active. Fredriksson eventually recovered and the band reunited in 2009.

Roxette have sold over 75 million albums in almost 30 years.
